Electric van sales are rising

Electric Vehicles Star at Rockingham

08/11/2011

Leading low carbon vehicle manufacturers gathered at Rockingham Motor Speedway, in Corby, for the 2011 Low Carbon Vehicle Show.

Over the past four years the LCV show has brought together industry leaders to showcase the latest developments in the low carbon vehicle market.  This year’s show was no different with over 2,000 delegates and 120 exhibitors, making it the biggest LCV Show yet.

As a leading manufacturer of electric vehicles for sale, Allied Electric was delighted to exhibit three vehicles from their range of zero emission cars, vans and minibuses.  The vehicles on display included the Peugeot eExpert electric car, together with a Peugeot eExpert electric van and Peugeot eBoxer electric van.

Electric Vehicles Put to the Test

Allied’s electric vehicles proved popular on the test drive circuit with delegates from all over the UK taking the opportunity to try out one of these unique vehicles.  As public and private sector bodies strive to meet strict CO2 targets and save money, companies are increasingly turning to electric vehicles.

Allied also had a fourth vehicle on display, the Peugeot ePartner, at the Technology Strategy Board's stand.  Allied Electric has worked closely, along with Cenex, in the development of their growing range of electric vehicles for sale.

Allied Electric Fleet Sales Manager, Steve Harris, commented: “Shows like LCV give visitors the chance to see our vehicles up close.  With high fuel costs and environmental harm now such major issues, fully electric vehicles offer a real and practical alternative to standard transport.

"It’s great that we’re now seeing more electric vans in mainstream LCV fleets.”
