27/05/2010

The latest GreenFleet Arrive'N'Drive event, held at Rockingham race track, near Bedford - with delegates showing huge interest in Allied Electric's growing range of Peugeot electric vans.

Arrive ‘N’ Drive 2010 attracted fleet managers from across the UK ,desperate to get their chance to drive and view the best low and zero emission cars and commercial vehicles on the market, including Allied Electric’s popular fully electric vehicle range.

Exploding Market

Renowned motor journalist, Quentin Wilson, joined an array of writers flocking to the event to see, first hand, Britain’s showcase of low and zero emission vehicles. Championing the cause of environmental motoring Quentin said: “For fleet drivers, journalists and everyone in attendance, it’s an absolutely fantastic event to be able to have access to these cars.

"This is an exploding market," continued Wilson.  What we see here will be in mainstream suburbia in three years.  The Lib Dems and Conservatives have a huge remit to deliver a low carbon economy.  Sustainable motoring will be massive.”

Allied On Show

Allied Electric’s Peugeot eExpert Tepee, Peugeot eExpert crew van and the recently launched Peugeot eBipper were available for test drive throughout the day.  Booking times were quickly snatched up in the morning by fleet mangers eager to try the vehicles out for themselves.  Allied received an enthusiastic response, with users praising the driveability and comfort of Allied's electric Peugeot models. Also on show was the Peugeot eExpert L2 H2 van, which was available in the paddock area for visitors to view.

Allied Electric’s Corporate Sales Manager, Colin McQueen, who attended the event commented: “We were delighted to take part in the show again following last year's success.  With vehicle test drives completely booked up from the start of the day we were rushed off our feet with demonstrations and enquiries from fleet managers and commercial buyers."

McQueen added: "The show was a great success and a clear indication of the huge interest in electric vehicles, with more organisations moving to greener fleets month on month.”
