Allied Electric has announced the latest additions to its range of all-electric cars, people carriers and light commercial vehicles.
Delegates at this year’s Commercial Vehicle Operator Show were the first to see the nimble eBipper and flexible ePartner, designed and manufactured by Allied, in conjunction with Peugeot.
Glasgow-based Allied Electric already offers battery-powered versions of the Peugeot Expert and Boxer LCVs. The eBipper and ePartner launches add several important new dimensions to the Allied range, with both vehicles offered in van and car versions.
New Models
The fully-electric Partner offers a multi-purpose small van with deceptive load space. The full 3.7 cubic metres of payload space is available in the ePartner, with a 549kg payload weight. The battery powered Partner Tepee likewise offers a highly flexible mid-size car with excellent boot space.
The ultimate in city vehicles, eBipper provides a nippy 375kg payload van or a handy runabout car. eBipper also benefits from an urban-friendly turning circle of under 10 metres, together with stylish looks and plenty of modern comfort features.
Performance
Both ePartner and eTepee provide a working range of 65 miles. Charging is available through an on-board, single-phase charger which simply plugs into a normal domestic socket or, in the case of the Partner, a dual-mode charger which can access either domestic single-phase or commercial three-phase supply.
Expert and Boxer
Also on Allied Electric’s stand at the CV Show were their existing eExpert and eBoxer models. Both of these larger vehicles deliver a 100 mile range and a variety of model options are on offer. These include the L2 Expert panel van, crew cab and Expert Tepee people carrier plus the L2 or L3 Boxer panel van, which is also available as a minibus.
Test Drive
Visitors to the Allied Electric stand were able to test drive electric vehicles at the show.
Managing director Paul Nelson comments: “The launch of these two new zero emission vehicles completes our full range of Peugeot LCVs, from eBipper to eBoxer. Electric vehicle orders have been building steadily and we hope to tap into further market segments with the introduction of these smaller all-electric models.
“With attractive functionality and pricing we also see significant market potential for the eBipper and ePartner car models.”
