All the electric vehicles Allied offers have a range of 100 miles and a top speed of 70mph. They can be charged using either industrial, 3-phase electricity or a household power supply, making them highly flexible.
So far 2010 has been off to a great start for Allied. As a key supplier to the Department for Transport’s Low Carbon Vehicle Procurement Programme (LCVPP) order’s have been flying in from councils and other public bodies throughout the UK for Allied's Peugeot eBoxer vans.
Allied will also develop and build 50 electric vehicles for use in Glasgow through a second project, led by the government’s Technology Strategy Board.
Allied Electric’s Corporate Sales Manager, Steve Harris, says: “The Commercial Operator Show is a fantastic opportunity for Allied to show how our EV range is developing and to communicate the key benefits of an electric fleet directly to transport managers.”
Steve adds: "Some fleet managers might still not be quite sure how electric vehicles could fit into their fleet. We'll be offering test drives at the show and can also arrange trial vehicles for customers to test in their own working environment."
